Riley’s Toys Foundation 1st Annual Golf Tournament Re-cap

June 22nd, 2011

Riley and the rest of the team at RTF - thank you!

Our 1st Annual Riley’s Toys Gold Tournament was a complete success this year! So great, in fact, we will be hosting another next year. Look out for “Save the Date” cards early fall!

A big “thank you” to our sponsors, and to those who have already signed on with us again for next year! We are very excited.

The tournament began 1pm Friday, June 10th at Silver Spring Golf Course. It was a gorgeous day, and Riley had a blast with all who were in attendance.

After all the foursomes, donations for games, raffles, 50/50, we raised enough to donate over 1,000 toys. Thanks again for contributing to our cause!

The Cause Marches On!

We hope you’ll help continue to help us provide toys to children who need them. As the 2011 Summer Toy-Drive rolls on, we know you’ll give to help restore smiles, laughter, and hope for orphan and refugee children.

Thank you … and thank you. By making  a donation to Riley’s Toys Foundation you’re giving children in need more support and assurance that they won’t face genocide, AIDS epidemic, fatherless and other harsh realities of life alone. Our children, the world’s children, deserve it.

The teams line-up! There were more than 40 players in attendance.

Riley took a minute away from putting practice for a quick snap-shot.

After 18 holes players had a nice meal, and Riley counted raffle tickets.

Steak dinners served up by the excellent chefs at Silver Spring Golf Course. Yum!

All in all - it was a hit! Riley congratulates a raffle winner with a hi-five.

Riley Hebbard named SERVICE TO Mankind award winner

April 19th, 2011

Mechanicsburg, PA Riley Hebbard, 7-year-old founder of Riley’s Toys Foundation, was named the 2010 Service To Mankind award winner by Hearts~n~Hands Sertoma club.

Riley's Toys FoundationThe award recognizes Riley’s efforts to collect and distribute toys to the needy, orphaned, and refugee children in Africa. To date she has shipped more than 18,000 toys overseas. Domestically, she has donated more than 10,000 toys to area charities.

Riley’s Toys Foundation is founded on an idea from then 4-year-old Riley Hebbard. In February 2009 she watched a news show that featured children in an African school that had no toys. Riley could not believe that these children had only ‘sticks and dirt’ to play with and decided to send her toys to them. She enlisted her preschool friends to do the same thing. She and her parents then added numerous collection sites at businesses they visit regularly in central PA.

Riley's AwardSertoma stands for SERvice TO MAnkind. That is what the Hearts~n~Hands Sertoma club believes Riley Hebbard is providing through her foundation. This award is given out annually to a non-Sertoman who is providing service to their community, whether local, national, or global. Bea Gabany, president of Hearts~n~Hands Sertoma club said “Riley’s idea and the effort she puts into it are an example for people of all ages. At a very young age she realized the need for people to help one another. She embodies Service To Mankind, even at 7 years old.”

The award was presented to Riley at the Hearts~n~Hands 6th Birthday dinner held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. ___________________________________________________________________________________
